Our Founder
For over 20 years, Tosin Aro has advised major private and public sector, as well as First Nations, clients nationwide on all aspects of native title, Aboriginal cultural heritage and Aboriginal land rights law. In addition to having market-leading expertise in agreement drafting and negotiation (acting for both proponents and Traditional Owners), Tosin has represented numerous clients in high-profile cases in the High Court, the Federal Court (including the Full Court) and the (Queensland) Land Court.
Over the last two decades, he has provided extensive advice and representation to clients on countless very high-profile matters – in a range of industry sectors – across Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, the Northern Territory, South Australia and Western Australia. Tosin is also noted for his thought leadership, including in the development of legislation, and he has made significant contributions to Parliamentary Inquiries conducted in relation to reform of both the Federal Native Title Act and the Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Heritage Acts.
Tosin’s proficiency in these areas of law has been recognised by perennial rankings over the last 10 years in such noted Legal Directories as Chambers Asia-Pacific, Legal 500 Asia-Pacific, Best Lawyers and Doyle’s Guide.
Client comments recognising Tosin for his significant expertise include:

Tosin is very knowledgeable about native title and also very diligent. But perhaps his greatest asset is the way in which he guides and interacts with his clients: he is patient and has a strong awareness of his clients’ needs and how to meet them. (Legal 500 Asia-Pacific, 2023)
What he doesn’t know doesn’t exist. He is entirely across the whole of native title and cultural heritage. He is a walking encyclopaedia and his ability to produce high-quality and timely advice is unsurpassed. (Chambers Asia-Pacific, 2019)
